The Dapp List is an aggregation layer, which allows end users to explore new, community-validated dapps every week.

Over the past several months, The Dapp List (TDL) has developed a safe passage for the blockchain jungle newbies and has enabled Dapps to be adopted. Protocols are forked — scams are minted with more money. This is obviously not a safe place for children.

Blockchain is still at the very beginning if we look at the users data, & in the coming years we’ll see more users attracting blockchain. What are the ways in which users can explore the ecosystem? Looking from a standard point of view, two main options are available:

• The Search Engines already do their bit and help users to find our new products in the blockchain area with plenty of noise to find a user and find the app/product they need.
• Aggregators are a good source for users to know less noise about the app / product. That is why users tend to find information on different niches by using aggregators.

Problem

There are few aggregators already existing in the space for users to find out about dapps in blockchain space. But who are validating the products/dapps on them? They themselves. This restricts the reach & hurts the UX, and also doesn’t provide safe passage to the new entrants as they’re confused between those numerous options + scams.

But how do we make this aggregation more transparent, robust & reliable? Community governance.

Product Hunters + Community Governance = The Dapp List

There are two major contributors to the growth & robustness of this system — Hunters & Voters.

• Hunters are the seeders of this economy. They’re responsible for hunting/finding Dapps to be listed on the platform. Based on whether the Dapp gets listed, the hunters are rewarded.
• Voters are the validators for this economy. They vote on the Dapps listed by Hunters on the voting dashboard. The voting cycle runs every week from Monday — Friday. Based on the voting results, the voters are rewarded.
